Students and TV

There are many different television shows that teens watch on a regular basis. With such a variety of different options out there, there is something for everyone. Freshman Aries Tryner and Junior Loren Sloan both say that their favorite show is ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. The show has been on the air since 2005, airing 13 seasons. Both Aries and Loren say they watch Grey’s Anatomy because of the relationships, characters and the extra drama the operating table adds.

“Every Thursday I look forward to sitting down and watching Grey’s. This show is the best because you never know what to expect, one minute someone can be perfectly fine and the next minute they can be on a bed in the elevator being rushed to the operating room,” said Sloan.

Another popular television show amongst teens is CW’s The Flash. Sophomore Theo Burgman has been watching since the very first episode aired in early 2015 and has been obsessed ever since. Three seasons of The Flash have aired already and all have captivated everyone who watches. This show has the added element of overlapping story lines with other shows such as, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Vixen and Constantine.

“The Flash has the perfect balance of fast paced action while still being well made with an engaging plot line. Because it ties to so many different shows it can be hard to follow at times but you always figure it out” said Freshman Tyler Welch.

With so many excellent shows on TV it can be hard for students to find a good balance between school and television.

“I used to get so caught up in shows that I would forget to do my schoolwork, now I try to balance it out by recording shows and watching on weekends or when I know I have nothing important coming up,”  said Junior Cameron Diamond.
From drama, to action, to romance, there is something to engage a wide teenage audience on TV. What show is out there that might interest you? Maybe a few too many.
