Lovato’s latest album brings confidence to fans
As singer and actress who made her name as the lead role in Camp Rock, Demi Lovato has come quite a long way in her musical career. After starting out with the Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2 soundtracks, she began working on her own music and stunned her teenage fan base with four of her very own albums: Don’t Forget, Here We Go Again, Unbroken and Demi.
On October 16, she exceeded the expectations of her fans when she released her latest album, titled Confident, along with Confident (Deluxe Edition) and a clean version of each.
The first song on this stellar album is an inspirational, upbeat track that was the name for the album. Confident is extremely expressive, uplifting, and relatable, allowing the listeners to connect with Lovato as she sings about confidence in the lyric, “What’s wrong with being confident?”
Following the first track, “Cool for the Summer” is an extremely catchy song about a summer relationship. Sung with passion and elegance, it is another party song with unforgettable lyrics and and a catchy chorus.
With this album, Lovato proves that she can sing different types of music. While there are many fast paced, dance songs, she sings relaxing, beautiful melodies as well. In the slow song For You, Lovato serenades someone who she would do anything for, and in a moving track called “Stone Cold”, Lovato’s lyrics are poetic as she describes the struggles of a relationship. Fans who hear this song will be able to relate to Lovato’s words and be moved by the slow cadence of the song.
While Lovato has released many hits by herself, she does not fail to impress with her collaborations on Confident called “Kingdom Come” (feat. Iggy Azalea) and “Waiting for You” (feat. Sirah). These collaborations contain the same elegance as every other song on this album with their lyrics, melody, and music.
Lovato’s songs on Confidence are slowly rising up on the iTunes charts, and they really do instill confidence in her fans, as they give relatable, inspirational music that will have listeners singing out all the lyrics whenever they hear them on the radio.
