Little Mix “Gets Weird” with new album

Little Mix, a British band since 2011, released their latest album, Get Weird on Friday, November 6.

The girls of Little Mix (Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock) have been working hard on their latest record. Little Mix sings songs that inspire fans to be independent and true to themselves. In addition to songs that encourage fans to “Get Weird,” Little Mix sings about love in a way that is relatable to young girls who are experiencing the same things for themselves.

“Weird People” is a track that teaches that it is okay to be different, to ignore the haters and to get weird. This song proves that being who you are is more important than changing yourself to please others, and “Weird People” is an excellent reminder that being different is not a bad thing.

A track featuring celebrated singer Jason Derulo, “Secret Love” combines the talents of both artists in a slow paced, passionate love song.

The album ends with a twelfth track called “The End”: a moving  song about a breakup that leaves the singer better off.

This album will induce tears, laughter and a mix of other emotions, but all in all, Get Weird contains 12 unforgettable songs  that will have listeners dancing, singing and wanting more.

Little Mix’s signature style of music is well represented in Get Weird, but the band still manages to please fans by creating an album with a sound so different from the rest of their previous music. Get Weird is certainly an album to be listened to on repeat, because each song is meaningful, catchy and extremely weird.
The girls from Little Mix are unfailingly successful in their attempts to record original music. Granted, their album is only one way in which the girls “Get Weird,” but as they’ve proven with the lyrics of their new music, weird is a good thing.
