Kung Fu Panda 3

Kung Fu Panda 3

The third installment of the Kung Fu Panda movie series was released on Friday, January 29. Starring Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman and J. K. Simmons, the movie was full of slapstick humor and valuable lessons for children. The plot line is a standard one, containing a definite villain and hero, but it completed the trilogy nicely.

The movie chronicles the life of a panda named Po, who is also the dragon warrior in China. He is reunited with his father, but immediately after, he is set an impossible task. He must live up to his title and defeat Kai, the evil villain intending to destroy all of the students of Oogway, the former Kung fu master.

Po has a difficult journey in Kung Fu Panda 3, but is always alongside his friends and father (both the real and the adoptive one).

Overall, this movie is a good use of the 90 minutes it runs for, especially for those who have seen the two prequels and are interested in how the story ends. Jack Black, the voice of Po, makes the panda into a relatable, almost human character who struggles with parent issues, peer pressure and isolation in society.

For anyone interested in finding out more about the life of Po, the clumsy, adopted dragon warrior of China, Kung Fu Panda 3 is definitely the movie to go see at the theatre next time.
