Glenn Frey

Glenn Frey

At 67, Glenn Frey, member and founder of rock and roll band The Eagles, passed away on Jan 18, 2016.

Frey was a singer, producer, actor and painter. The Eagles ruled the 1970’s rock and roll music industry and Frey wrote and was lead singer on many songs such as, Take It Easy, Lyin’ Eyes and Tequila Sunrise. He also guest starred on TV shows, Miami Vice and Wise Guy.

The Eagles won six Grammys and five AMA after their breakup in 1980. In 1998, The Eagles were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. After 1980, Glenn Fry became a solo artist and has had 24 top 40 songs.

In 2000, Frey started having problems with rheumatoid arthritis and was put into a medically induced coma. After a long battle, Frey passed away due to complications from pneumonia, rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis.

Sadly, because Glenn Frey died around the same time as other famous artists such as David Bowie and Maurice White, he wasn’t tributed to after his passing as much as he should have been. The main tribute took place at the 2016 Grammys, when the remaining members of The Eagles and also Jackson Browne sang in his memory.

Since this performance, Don Henley has announced the final split-up of The Eagles. Their Grammy performance very much might be their last.

Glenn Frey will forever be remembered as an outstanding musician and founder of one of the greatest rock and roll bands to ever exist.
