Student Spotlight: Josh’s routine

During this interview, I had the opportunity to meet Josh, a 9th grader at Desert Vista, who enjoys playing baseball and Videogames. One of the things I got a chance to learn about Josh is his frequent daily routine.

Christina So, okay, so what does your daily life look like right now?

Josh – I’m on a school day. On Thursday, Friday, go to school. So you know, wake up, like, five minutes before I have to go take a shower real quick. And then, you know, go to school then come home. I Either a baseball practice or I don’t if I have baseball practice, I do baseball practice, then if not, I just play video games the rest of the day.

Christina – The pandemic has flipped everyone worlds upside down, one of those things is sports from playing every day and competing to siting at home and not being allowed to do the things you enjoy doing, today I got to learn about josh’s perspective about how this is affecting him as an athlete

Christina – Oh, that’s pretty cool. Well,  how are your plans to play sports?

Josh – Um, for our practices right now because you know, we’re doing fall balls. So for practices, we just have to wear masks and then we do like we have like a club team and then for the tournaments, we just do tournaments and stuff, so it’s not really affecting it that much.

This Pandemic is affecting a lot more than playing sports every day and being active and having fun and going to school every day and seeing your friends, the biggest and most important thing is how it is affecting you as a person

Christina Other than sports What is it affecting?

Josh – I don’t really go to see family that much. I don’t leave the house that often.

As Amelia Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy said it best “If you aren’t willing to keep looking for the light in the darkest of places without stopping, even when it seems impossible, you will never succeed. In this pandemic, people always should be positive by having hope that it will end, today I got to learn josh’s perspective of being positive during this pandemic

Christina What is one positive thing that came out of this?

Josh – Probably the online school I like doing the online school a lot more. It’s a lot easier for me.

Christina Oh, okay. So what is one thing you’re looking forward to when this thing is over

Josh – I don’t know just be able to go a lot of places, be able to go places without a mask on. That’s a big thing.

At the end of this interview, I was glad that I had a chance to meet Josh and get a chance to know him and his interests and goals.
