Student Spotlight: On the court with Anessa
Aneesa is a young creative girl freshman at Desert Vista. She plays basketball and track. Due to COVID most sports have been delayed or canceled. We asked Aneesa what challenges would she face playing right now.
“Um, so, you know, I think it’d be challenging because I’m usually always surrounded by a lot of people,” Anessa said. “And it’d be challenging to stay away from people. And, you know it’s fun when you have someone next to you. And you’re always entertained by them. And were always next to each other. So it was kind of challenging because I won’t be will have that same contact and fun that I used to have.”
Aneesa has always loved sports and the family it creates for you.
As you get to know Aneesa you will soon find out she is a very kind and athletic person. She herself recommends trying out track or any sport.
“Um, you know, being part of a team like, another family, you’re always there for someone no matter if you don’t have anyone, like, you know supporting you, the team is always there,” she said. “And they’re, you know some of them have to support you because that’s what they’re supposed to do. You’re coaches, it could be anybody and just being part of a team is its just great.”

“Um, Yes. So like you In general track is a good sport,” Anessa said. “You know, we have a big team whether it is small would be just, you know, filled with a lot of people. And you know you have to your supporting one another. You’re trying you make your teammates feel you know confidence so that they can win. If you’re not feeling confident, you know, you may not win but the team is always going to be cheering for you. Someone’s always going to be cheering for you. And you know, just it’s just a great sport. I think you should try it.”
