Earth Themed Spirit Week

Mrs. Amanda Goe hosted a spirit week at Desert Vista last week, May 17 through May 21. The theme varied by the day but the word that you had to relate to was “earth”. By participating in this spirit week you would be nominated to win a handful of prizes.

“I participated in the earth themed spirit week for a few days out of the week and and it was fun. I liked dressing up for Thursday because I love traveling and my family and I travel every school break that we get. Also I enjoyed dressing up for Friday because lately I have been hiking a lot. I love that this week was dedicated to earth and raising awareness,” said freshman Peyton Rubischko.

Each day of the spirit week was corresponded to a letter of “earth”. Monday was “E” which was themed earth, wear green. Tuesday was “A” as in animals, dress in animal print or any animal attire. Wednesday was “R” as recycle, or wear blue. Thursday had the letter “T” symbolising travel, rep your culture or the place you want to visit the most. Friday was “H” for hike, wear your favorite hiking attire or rep a national park.

“I am a very down to earth person and I love that by participating in events like these that everyone is raising awareness for sustainability week and earth day. The spirit week days were very easy to take part in and that was great as well. I saw a bunch of students that were playing a role in this Desert Vista spirit week and I am glad I could be a part of it with them,” said freshman Alison Riordan.
