The class of 2015 is approaching fast on one of the most important times of their lives:  Graduation. A time to reflect, start new things and start new lives. Events such as Grad Night, Prom and graduation itself are planned to celebrate this memorable time. So, why is graduation so important to celebrate?

“These things are mostly student driven. Prom is student council driven” said Mrs. Christine Barela, principal at Desert Vista High School.

Grad Night is on Thursday, May 21, right after graduation. It will be at the Multi-Star Entertainment Center. Laser tag, bowling, casino and arcade will be there to entertain graduates.

Prom was a great event; it was held on April 25. The theme was “A Night of Enchantment” and was held at the Venue of Scottsdale.

Graduation will be held on May 21 in the stadium.

“Graduation is a ceremony to say that they are ready for the next chapter in their lives, whether it be college or a career and to accomplish and celebrate all that they learned,” said Barela.

“My hope is that they make a difference in the world, that they live happy and productive lives and they believe in themselves to reach their goals and dreams” said Barela
