Cabins are available for rent as well as hotel rooms, but for those who have a camper, a grilled Thanksgiving dinner is always a fun new meal tradition to try. For those living in or near Ahwatukee, the Festival of Lights takes place on Thanksgiving weekend.

For Christmas, Colorado is an ideal place for travelers. For those who don’t wish to deal with the airport, the car ride through the Rocky Mountains to any of the popular ski towns is known to be very scenic, especially during the winter. Breckenridge specifically is perfect for those who love the colder and snowier weather, there are many Christmas parades and festivals held there due to Breckenridge being a very popular holiday destination. Also, skiing and snowboarding are the two prime activities, with there being hundreds of offered runs and trails. The shopping district has over 200 shops and stores, as well as many different bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants. During Christmas in the town square there is the lighting of the town tree, choruses, hot cocoa and fireworks. Visitors can also go dog sledding, take a gondola ride up the mountain and also ice skate. Although a little bit on the pricey side, there are many available rental condos, apartments and houses right in town. However, these rentals go quickly, so plan in advance.
