As we have all been told, “If you want to grow big and strong, finish this glass of milk.”  As you gussle down the glass, you image yourself growing into a body builder.  Milk has been shown to help bones and teeth become stronger but studies show that to achieve excellent health you would have to drink an outrageous amount of milk.

A study in Norway consisting of 40,000 women found that females who drank at least 2 cups of milk a day when they were a child and still consistently drink it today have less of a chance to develop breast cancer.  The average person in 2012, only drank half the amount that they are supposed to take to obtain what milk promises, healthy bones and teeth.

What comes with that is also the fact that drinking too much milk could also be potentially harmful to the body.  A study conducted with women and men ranging between the ages of 20- 75 showed that the people who drank more than three glasses of milk a day were more prone to hip and foot fractures.  Also, it is possible to become lacking in vitamin D, the body can become immune to the amount of milk someone is intaking if there is an excessive amount of milk being drank.  There is, however, a solution to this.  Other ways to get vitamin D is through sunlight or through pills.

In the end, it is important to get your daily serving of milk in moderation.  Benefits like stronger bones and healthier teeth along with many other health benefits.  Got milk?
