National Interscholatic Athletic Administrator Certification

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. According to their Linkedin “The NIAAA champions the profession of athletic administration through educational opportunities, advocating ethics, developing leaders and fostering community.”

Anna Battle, a previous principal at Desert Vista high school recently earned this incredible award. “I think she really deserves this award,” said junior Madison Rosselin “She is very accomplished and very dedicated in the things that she does, and has a lot of experience with athletics.”

Dr. Battle was a principal at Desert Vista for nine years and continues as a superintendent in the Tempe Union District. Previously before being a principal and a superintendent she was a; teacher, coach, sponsor, and assistant principal, “She’s a big advocate for athletics and academics,” said Deonne Douglass in a recent interview. “She makes sure that they have what they need on the field and also in the classroom.”

Dr. Battle is very dedicated, and a committed educator who is inspired to meet all of the diverse needs that occur when dealing with different students. Which is one of the many reasons she got the award, “So many kids are good athletes who could be getting scholarships but because their grades aren’t good they miss out on those opportunities,” said Douglass.
“Her achievement helped people both on and off the field,” said Stephanie Osswald a freshman at D.V.  “And for that I think everyone at Desert Vista should very thankful to her.”
