There are many songs out there right now and people love a select few. According to a survey given to a number of students from around the school, they like many different things. Given a list of around 30 songs, fifteen of them received 3 or more votes. Here is a list of the top ten songs according to our students:

 

  1. Uptown Funk – Bruno Mars

 

An upbeat and popular song that has been up in the top of the charts for months.

 

  1. Take Me to Church – Hozier

 

A slow, sad song that has also been at the top the charts, despite nearly-depressing lyrics, it has appeased people across the country.

 

  1. Earned It – The Weekend

 

A song used in the hit Valentine’s flick Fifty Shades of Gray, this song has been in the charts since the movie came out and has attracted listeners ever since with its slow beat and great voice from The Weekend.

 

  1. Centuries – Fall Out Boy

 

Fall Out Boy’s hit song has been dominating the charts for months and used its strong beat to pull in listeners and keep them hooked.

 

  1. Love Me Like You Do – Ellie Goulding

 

Another song used in Fifty Shades of Gray, this song uses Ms. Goulding’s voice and lyrics that fit right in to the theme of the movie, kept it in the charts and among one of the favored songs for listeners around the country.

 

  1. FourFiveSeconds – Rihanna & Kanye West & Paul McCartney

 

Using the three superstar singers from different sections of the music world brought fans together for this titanic collaboration and created a hit that attracted listeners from everywhere across the nation with its positive lyrics and beat.

 

  1. Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran

 

Using Ed Sheeran’s great voice and a constant happy beat about how he fell in love kept audiences listening and the song on the charts.

 

  1. Sugar-Maroon 5

One of the legendary bands of today, Maroon 5 created another hit with Sugar and used upbeat lyrics and beats to keep people listening and loving it.

 

  1. Truffle Butter – Nicki Minaj feat. Drake & Lil Wayne

 

Nicki Minaj combined with two of rap’s superstars and immediately attracted the attention of people across the nation and kept them listening with a beat to go right along with all three of the superstar’s rap sessions during the song.

 

  1. Trap Queen – Fetty Wap

 

Using a beat to keep you listening, Fetty Wap uses his flow of rap lyrics about his “Trap Queen.”

 

After receiving a total of over 125 votes, it was clear to see that the students surveyed liked many different kinds of songs from all over the music-sphere, and that diverse and different music is a good thing.
