Black Ops 3 is a game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It is the third game in the Black Ops series and has been in development for three years.

The basic thought of the game is that it’s 2065, and after years of developing technology a super soldier program  is arising as metal limb replacements improve the way of killing.

After footage of these super soldiers are leaked, riots break out and people call it inhumane and against moral standards. When war breaks out cities are crushed and many are searching for help.

In the dark and gritty future only a team of Black Ops agents can go out and find who is betraying the program and leaking the blueprints of the enhanced limb replacements. Since other people have gotten hands on the technology it will be harder for them to repel the rebellion.

The Black Ops squad does however have a secret weapon against the others. They have a neuro chip placed into them with special contacts in their eyes. They can get special information immediately letting them destroy the enemy.

Using the display that goes over the top of their eyes they can select and choose different things and abilities which can change the heat of battle in an instant.

Along with a campaign there are two other modes known as multiplayer and zombies.

Multiplayer is a mode where players can create a custom class with weapons and abilities of their choice. You are then able to enter an online match up to 16 players with 8 per team.

In a multiplayer battle you are able to kill the enemies with your abilities and weapons. A classic gamemode in multiplayer is team deathmatch. The first team to accumulate 75 kills against the other team gains the win.

Zombies is a mode exclusive to Treyarch games. Up to four players are put together working against the undead mob.

One feature is being able to buy perks. These perks give you an advantage against the undead. A commonly known perk is juggernaut, increasing your maximum health so you can last longer. According to Treyarch there are plenty more in the game which they have not revealed.

Black Ops 3 keeps the theme of the last two games which were also set as a dark time in history. The same setting is applied not only to the campaign, but also to the multiplayer and zombie mode.

The biggest addition to the Black Ops series is the new movement system. With the improved limb attachments soldiers are now able to run on walls for a limited time to let players run around the map more efficiently.

Along with wall running, soldiers equip a jetpack allowing players to reach high vantage points and move better in the game. This jetpack is not infinite however. Boosting into the air only lasts two or three seconds before it needs time to reset.

The game will be released November 6 this year but fans can pre-order the game early to avoid lines at stores. Many people are waiting for the game with over one million pre-orders so far.

“Black Ops 3 is going to be the next best Black Ops in the series, it looks really in depth. I can hardly wait for it to be released.” said Michael Leverett, a freshman at Desert Vista.
