Most Anticipated Video Games In 2016

As 2016 comes rolling in so do the new video games such as the upcoming Gears Of War 4 and after 8 years a second Mirror’s Edge named Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is to come out this year but that is only the beginning so I will list the most anticipated video games in 2016.

 

1.

Street Fighter V (February 16, 2016)

A well known fighting game, developed and produced by Capcom and co-developed by Dimps.

Fifth main installment in the Street Fighter series. Street Fighter is set to be in three platforms the Playstation 4, Microsoft Windows and Linux. Though many Street Fighter lovers who use Xbox system only don’t be expecting it to be out on the platform. On June 12, 2015, Capcom further clarified that the game will not be released on any other platforms due to a development partnership between Sony Computer Entertainment and themselves.On the partnership, Capcom’s Matt Dahlgren said “Part of the reason we partnered up with Sony is, we share the same vision for the growth potential in the fighting game space. I’d say the key aspect is working with us on executing cross platform play, this is going to be the first time we’ve ever united our community into a centralized player base.” Also dealing with Street Fighter V, an upcoming mini series called Street Fighter: Resurrection, which will serve as a narrative prologue to the events of the game, with Charlie Nash being the protagonist. It is set to begin in March 2016.

Tom Clancy’s The Division (March 8th, 2016)

An open-world RPG video game developed by Ubisoft Massive with co-developers Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. Will be in the two game platforms the Xbox One and Playstation 4. Tom Clancy’s The Division takes place in mid-crisis New York, like other open world games the player is able to explore their surroundings and much more. Your main mission is to restore order in New York by finding out the source of a virus.

Dark Souls III (April 12, 2016)

An action RPG developed by FromSoftware and the fourth installment in the Souls series.

Set to be released in three videogame platforms Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Microsoft Windows.

Dark Souls III has three different types of special editions for players to purchase, all of which cost more than the original game. Players who have preordered the game will have their game automatically promoted to the Apocalypse Edition, which has a unique case and the game’s original soundtrack. The Collector’s Edition contains physical items such as the Red Knight figurine, an artbook, a new map and a box. The Prestige Edition factors all the content of The Collector’s Edition, and has an additional Lord of Cinder resin figurine, which is designed as a pair with the Red Knight figurine.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (April 26, 2016)

Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 video game console. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the sequel to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be the fourth and final installment in the series. Sadly will be the last of the series to be developed by Naughty Dog. The game will be set three years after Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception with Nathan Drake as the main character.Naughty Dog outlined the game’s plot as “his greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately, what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves”.

Homefront: The Revolution (May 17, 2016)

An open-world first person game which is the sequel to the 2011 game Homefront. developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver. After THQ’s bankruptcy, the rights of the game were sold to Crytek who then sold the rights to Koch Media after reconstructing their company. Deep Silver, a subsidiary of Koch Media who have had a part in developing the game.

Set up to be available for five video game platforms the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, OS X, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. Set in 2029, four years after the original game. Main character Ethan Brady stages a resistance movement against the army of a Korean invasion in the city of Philadelphia.

 

 

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (May 24, 2016)

A sequel to the 2008 Mirror’s Edge, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is an action-adventure game developed by EA DICE and published by EA also known as Electronic Arts.

Originally set to come out February 23rd, 2016 for additional development was pushed back to its now released date May 24th, 2016. Set up to be in three video platforms, the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Microsoft Windows. The plot for the game is the main character Faith’s origin and how she attempts to overthrow the government in the city of Glass.

Gears Of War 4

Created by Epic Games, developed and managed by The Coalition, and owned and published by Microsoft Studios.The sequel to Gears of War 3 and the fifth installment in the Gears Series but the fourth main installment since Gears Of War: Judgement. Which was a prequel to the very first Gears Of War and the storyline focused on Damon Baird who is one of the main characters of the series. The storyline for Gears Of War 4 Though is not known yet and probably will be announced when the game is either available for pre-order or when it is out for everyone to buy the game.

Final Fantasy XV

An action RPG game developed and published by Square Enix. Final Fantasy XV will be in two video game platforms the Xbox One and Playstation 4. The fifthteenth installment of the Final Fantasy series. Originally the game was supposed to be a Playstation 3 exclusive but was changed to be used in the Xbox One and Playstation 4 video game platforms. Though it had been rumored for the game to be cancelled because of how long the game was being developed, it was just a platform switch. Based on modern day Earth Final Fantasy XV storyline begins as an truce is declared between Lucis and Niflheim, ending the cold war which had erupted over the control of the world’s last crystal. A peace treaty is finally declared, and as part of the acquiescences, Prince Noctis is to marry the Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae. After Noctis leaves on the day the official treaty is to be signed, Niflheim seized Lucis and takes the nation’s crystal for its own before initiating attacks on Solheim, Tenebrae and Accordo. Noctis and his companions now travel to recover their kingdom’s crystal and defeat Niflheim’s forces.
