Blast from the past

Molly Ringwald is a name you might have heard before. She was a big time actress in the 80’s, and starred in many teen films, such as “Sixteen Candles” and “The Breakfast Club”. Another movie she starred in was “Pretty In Pink”, and word has got out that the film will be coming back  to theaters for its 30th anniversary. You might have seen this movie, just watching it with your parents one day. Or you could be completely obsessed with the movie, and you are so ready for this event. Or you might not even know what I’m talking about, and are actually curious now. Either way, you might want to put this date in your calendar, because it’s a pretty big deal.

The film is based around Andie, who is played by Molly Ringwald, and is a young outcast in high school that enjoys making clothes and crushing on Blane, one of the cute rich kids at her school. Annie’s wingman Ducky, played by Jon Cryer, wants to help her with any problem that comes her way. Except for her little love for Blane, since he is interested in being more than just best friends. Can Andie and Blane go against the social standards of high school and be together?

The movie came out to theaters for the first time on February 28th, 1986. For the first time in 30 years, “Pretty In Pink” will be back in theaters for a limited time. The first showing is scheduled for Valentine’s Day, and then again on the 17th of February. This sweet film will make you love the fight for young love against the harsh clash of high school expectations.
