Recently, The Wonder Woman movie was announced by DC Comics and is scheduled to release June 23, 2017. The film is planning to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D.

The director is Patty Jenkins with Gal Gadot playing Wonder Woman. Development of the movie began originally in 2005, but a bunch of setbacks pushed Warner Bros to hold off on the project until 2010.

Wonder Woman is warrior princess based off of the amazons in greek mythology. In her homeland she is known as Princess Diana of Themyscira. She is gifted with a bunch of superhuman powers and combat skills. She also has an arsenal of weapons like the lasso of truth and a pair of indestructible bracelets.

In the upcoming film, she is 5000 year old demi goddess born from Zeus. Other information on her origin in the film is currently unknown.

Exclusive footage was shown January 19, 2016 on tv network The CW, then later uploaded for everyone to watch on Youtube.

Wonder Woman will be the fourth movie in the DC extended universe following Suicide Squad. DC Comics expects that these upcoming movies will increase popularity in the new Extended Universe.

One problem people had from the short clips shown is the filter. Hollywood films are known for their dark and gloomy movies, but fans feel like a Wonder Woman movie shouldn’t have one.

One thing is for sure, many people are expecting great things to come from this movie. DC Comics can expect to see an increase in sales if this movie is done correctly.
