Dancing Through the Library

On April 30 and May 1, the Desert Vista Dance Company performed Dancing Through the Library.

Dances featured were “The Great Gatsby”, “The Thief” and “Divergent” to name a few. In between about every seven dances, dance coach Bianca Caryl would read a short book like Horton Hears a Who, Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Caryl coaches the varsity dance line, elite dance and dance company.

“One of my students last spring proposed this idea for this show,” said Caryl.

Freshman dancer Tessa Lopker said, “We did a lot of rehearsels and had choreographers come in. My favorite dance was ‘Maleficent’. I liked the dance and the story behind it.”

Many people in the dance show were seniors and will be leaving next year to attend college. The show featured a senior goodbye slideshow showing their names and what college they would be attending.
