Festival of lights: 20th anniversary

The Ahwatukee Festival of Lights is having its 20th anniversary this coming Thanksgiving weekend. The Festival of Lights is one of the overall biggest events in the Ahwatukee Foothills.

The kick-off party is on Saturday November 28, 11 to 9pm at the Desert Foothills Park.

Admission for the event is free, rides/inflatables are $20 all day or 50 cents per ticket. The annual Harley motercycle parade is taking place at the kick-off party, being one of the most popular events. There will also be a pet parade for the first time ever, those participating are open to dress up their pets in costume.

A restaurant row will be available, with 12 other food trucks joining at 6. The marketplace has over 100 crafts and local vendors (volunteering for set up with the marketplace is needed the day before). 2 performance stages will be set up with local bands playing throughout the day from 11am to 9pm. A sand volleyball tournament sponsored by the YMCA is also taking place, anybody can sign up.

Many volunteers are needed on Saturday, November 28 for a wide arrange of activities. Sign up at the link below for volunteering.
