Popular Instagram app caught stealing info

A popular Instagram related app, InstaAgent, has been removed off the Apple and Google Appstore after being caught stealing people’s private information. This app was very popular around the world, as close to 500,000 people downloaded the app. If you owned this app, you should change your password, because even if you deleted the app, your password was still saved on a private server. The popular app allowed users to see who was looking at their profiles, and sometimes the app would even post pictures without the behalf of the user. Perhaps the scariest part of this situation, is that no app you download is completely safe.

Even though Apple is known for keeping its Appstore as clean and safe as possible, dirty apps sneak in sometimes, and some of these apps may become very popular, like InstaAgent. If you are going to download an app, read all the guidelines of the app, and make sure you are fully aware of the consequences of the app if it is unsafe. And some of these unsafe apps may be worse than you think, because your password and username can be used for your bank account and email!

The Appstore is a lot like the internet, if you know what you are doing on it, you will be fine. If you are risking yourself and putting your information at danger, then you may lose it.
