First car made out of cardboard

It has finally happened, no not a car that runs on water, not a car that never needs to take in gas. But a car, made out of cardboard, real, cardboard!

Lexus has created the car, and they seem to be on a roll after creating the first hover board. Lexus calls the special car, the “Origami Car”, using sliced up cardboard that are glued together. The car has a fully functioning engine, has an interior, running headlights and even rolling wheels. This was made possible because underneath all the cardboard, there is an aluminum frame and steel support.

Lexus could not do it all by themselves however, they asked LaserCut, a London based Specialty Company that takes pride in helping design prototypes for other companies. The car was very precise with cuts, because once it was glued the company could not make a change later on. The car itself took three months to build, and they may use the precision from this car and use it on different cars, a spokesman said.

If Lexus keeps up this innovation they may be one of the best companies out there. Whatever happens with this car, Lexus has certainly shown they are serious about innovation, and want to take steps in the luxury car market.
