Hillary Clinton confronted by “Black Rights” Activist at event

Black lives matter activist interrupted presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during a private, unlisted fundraiser referencing a past statement made in 1996.

Ashley Williams and a colleague of hers both paid $500 to attend the event along with around 100 other guests at a private residence in South Carolina.

While the Democratic frontrunner was speaking to the crowd, Williams silently stepped from the crowd holding a banner reading “We have to bring them to heel. #whichHillary” in reference to a controversial statement she made during her husband Bill Clinton’s reelection campaign.

“They are not just gangs of kids anymore” Clinton said in her 1996 statement, “They are often the kinds of Kids called Super-Predators. No conscious. No empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way but first We have to bring them to Heel.”

Holding up her sign, Williams asked Clinton to  “apologize to black people for mass incarceration” who replied with “Well, can I talk? And then maybe you can listen to what I say.”

After a few seconds of going back and forth which is clear in a video posted of the incident via YouTube, the crowd started yelling things such as “you’re being rude” and “you’re trespassing.”

Williams was escorted by the secret service out of the small fundraiser.

“We did this because we wanted to make sure that black people are paying attention to her record, and we want to know what Hillary we are getting” Williams told the Huffington Post in an explanation of why she did the protest.

“I shouldn’t have used those words, and I wouldn’t use them today” Clinton said in a statement released after the video went viral.
