Epic Assemblies

Desert Vista will receive a visit from a company called Epic Assemblies on Thursday, January 19th, to encourage students to make positive life choices.

“They dance and sing about addiction and different things that you struggle with as a teenager,” Junior Madison Gosselin said. “This is definitely more of a performance than an assembly.”

Epic Assemblies is a touring company that travels to high schools all over the country to tell their stories.

“They use the performing arts as a way to get their stories across to teens.” Activities Director Tomika Banks said. “All of the stories that they tell are 100 percent real. They have not changed any information.”

The individuals with Epic have been through so much in their lives and turned to singing and dancing as a way to escape their pain and depression.

“The specific person or people performing in that number are telling their own story, something that they had personally experienced.” Tomika Banks said.
