Women’s History Month

Women’s history month goes back to the 1970’s. Many people during this time didn’t approve of women doing “men’s” jobs.  Women’s Month was made to appreciate women all around the world. By 1986, 14 states already declared March to be Women’s Month. By 1987 March was officially named Women’s History Month and it was decreed that every year we honor the achievements of American women.

Every year to celebrate Women’s History Month there is a new theme. The 2017 theme is to honor women who have successfully challenged the role of women in both business, as well as the paid labor force. Women over the years have proven that women can do the same jobs that men can do. Women’s history month is a celebration of all women now and over the years.

Many women in our time, and especially in our generation have made a great impact. There are women who save lives, women who are famous singers, and even women who inspire us on a personal level. Many women have made great impact on our society as a whole. They have inspired many people to want to be the best people they can be. The goal of Women’s History Month is to celebrate the diverse ways that women have impacted the world around them.
Women have made a difference on how many people see the world today. “Over the years female’s have made a remarkable mark on this world, they have proven that they have worth and that they have more than just appearance” says Makayla Belfiore. Many people look up to these female role models because over the years they have done so much. They got women the right to vote, the right to have jobs and make a living in the business industries.
