Students explain why they love Improv Club

Here at Desert Vista, we have an improv club where many kids go to have fun and express themselves. Improv is the type of theater in which there are no scripts, and the actors have to improvise on the spot. Our improv club is lead by Jennifer Miller and Palmira Federico.“I joined improv because I love improv,” said Lauren Mooney, Freshman. She continued with,” There was a club here at this school, and there wasn’t one at my old school, so I can finally have a chance to do it with other people. ”

Improv is held every Friday after school, and newcomers are always welcome. Here are some tips on getting used to improv.

  1. Take deep breaths when you get nervous
  2. If you don’t have ideas on what to do during a game, do anything that comes to your mind.
  3. And finally, take your time and know that everyone is there to support you and not bring you down.

“Improv is a community where we like to bring people and take their ideas, they come up with them on the spot, and they apply it to their performance,” said Palmira Federico, Senior.

Improv might seem scary, but it’s okay if you mess up because you can always recover.
