Team Fortress 2 review

Team Fortress 2 is a free cartoon themed first person shooting game developed by Valve. The game was released April 8th, 2008 for windows and has been praised by many people.

One reason I started to play Team Fortress 2 is because I had a bad laptop that couldn’t run games that well. Luckily Team Fortress 2 has graphics that are funny and cartoonish enough that it looks good but can run on nearly every computer.

What’s cool about the game is that there are multiple classes allowing each player to choose the playstyle they feel fits them. I like to support my Team by using the engineer instead of directly attacking the enemy. The engineer can build a machine that heals teammates and a sentry gun that automatically shoots enemies.

Apart from the different classes are the sheer amount of customization items you can equip on your in game character. By playing games you have a chance of getting things like hats or guns which affect your stats. I enjoy making my character looking like how I want him with a funny hat or even a candy cane knife.

There are also many different game modes to choose from if you prefer one thing over another.  I prefer payload race, this gamemode is fun and exhilarating because each team must push a cart along a track while preventing the other team from pushing theirs. This adds a objective to the game instead of just mindlessly killing.

The gameplay is really smooth, if you die you have to wait 15 seconds, this stops people from constantly running out and getting killed from people waiting outside the spawning area. Plus Valve takes time to balance the weapons and classes so that there isn’t one certain one everyone abuses.

This is a game Valve clearly spent time making, even now they still add stuff and fix things 8 years later. This fun online shooter will entertain you for hours, it’s free so anyone can try it out.
