Snack Prices

For the first twenty minutes of lunch, the lunch line nearly stretches to the door. Students, regardless of their year here at Desert Vista are waiting for either fried or junk food. Not only is it non-nutritional, but the cost is higher than it needs to be.

For example, one of the most popular items are the to-go Nutella packs. They are two dollars at school, but at Walmart, they are 1.48 cents for one, and only four dollars for a pack of four. While this doesn’t seem like a huge difference, saving as little as a dollar on a snack for lunch every day can save families a ton of money!

The Welch’s fruit snacks are sold at lunch for 1.35 cents. On Amazon, you can buy eighty of them for eighteen dollars. It’s unfair that the school sells the snacks for so much money, especially when student typically don’t have very much.

DV sells a great selection of snacks, but the prices can be unfair to the students and their families.
