Is Desert Vista Cafeteria Lunch Healthy?

The cafeteria food at Desert Vista provides many different choices of food to choose from. But is the food at DV really good for a student’s health? Some may argue that the students should be the ones to choose what they want to eat. The students are high schoolers now and should have the right to eat what they want to eat; but is the food they choose a danger to their health?

Yes, the food is delicious at DV and is set at a reasonable price to buy but it is also very unhealthy. It’s good to have a healthy diet when going to school everyday of the week for eight hours a day to help keep students awake and ready to learn. Every student should have at least three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When lunchtime comes around, students at DV choose to eat unhealthy food including french fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Most students would buy food like this most days of the school year or even everyday of the school year.
Students may argue if the school agrees to get rid of food like this, but DV needs to provide a wider selection of healthy food, snacks, and drinks to choose from in order for students to keep a balanced diet. DV does have some healthier food to choose from but they don’t provide enough. In my opinion, the school’s cafeteria food is very unhealthy and needs to add more healthier meals to their menu. Bringing more healthier meals to our school will help encourage students to make more healthier choices when buying food during lunch.
