The Desert Vista girl’s softball team has had an astonishing start to their season, with a record of 13 wins and 8 losses, thanks to their coach Felipe Becerra.

Sophomore Kiara Kennedy, a second year player on varsity, has big hopes for this season with the team.

“This season is going great so far. We have had our ups and downs, but we are improving very much each game,” said Kennedy.

The varsity team has young girls on the field, but they are all very talented and there is still a chance at state.

“I believe that we can make it very far in state,” said Kennedy. “If we keep playing to our full potential, we can do it.”

Many of the varsity girls have plans to go to the next level and play college ball. Freshman Brynn Gulinson has already committed to Auburn University and Kennedy committed to the Purdue University.

“I have been dreaming of playing college softball for a while and Purdue just offered me a scholarship, so I guess I’ll be playing there for college,” said Kennedy.
