Kansas University Basketball upset

Tuesday, January 19th, number three ranked Kansas University was upset by unranked Oklahoma State. Just days before this, number one ranked Oklahoma was beaten by the number nineteen Iowa State. After a rough first part of the season, the Cowboys pulled off a huge win knocking off a top three ranked team. This is the third year in a row that the Jayhawks have traveled to Stillwater and left with a loss. The atmosphere in Gallagher-Iba Arena has said to be crazy, full of energy and excitement. With the Jayhawks being favored in this game, the score was a shock. In the end, the Cowboys took a 19 point lead to finish out the game 86-67. Coming into this game, the Jayhawks had a record of 15-3, but the last two games played were not up to the team’s potential. Bill Self, Kansas Head Coach said, “We’re struggling right now. We’re laboring. We’re not playing as well as a unit. We’re not playing really well individually. We’re inconsistent.” Although, coach said “Our attitude and our energy and our effort, I didn’t think it was bad tonight. They were just better.”
