Desert Vista Junior Jenna Figueroa has high hopes for being accepted to the University of Arizona. She wants to go to this college because of their great track team and beautiful campus.

“I want to go for the athletics,” says Figueroa, “Their track team is really good and so is their dance program. I love how pretty the campus is and it is really close to home.”

Jenna plans to run recreationally and in college. She wants to run to stay in shape and competitively in college.

“I really like running and jumping,” says Figueroa, “I will try track in college and if I like it i will keep doing it but I want to test my options and see if I like track still when I get to college.”

She says that all the people on the team get along really well and they are like brothers and sisters.

“I love my team so much,” says Figueroa, “We have gotten really close throughout the years and i am excited for more new friends next season.”

Jenna says that her overall experience with Desert Vista track has been great. Not only does she run track, but she is also a strong part of the dance program at Desert Vista. She say that dance is a big part of her life but she prefers track and field.

“I really do love the athletics at Desert Vista,” says Fig, “Everyone’s so kind and supportive and it is really just such a fun experience. My favorite part of being in Desert Vista track is meeting new people. You make so many new friends that you keep all throughout high school and I love that.”
