Five comfort foods to get in the spirit of fall

With fall coming soon and the temperature dropping,  comfort foods are getting more and more popular.  Here are five comfort foods for the cold seasons.

 

  1. Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Bread Crumbs

Nothing says comfort like warm, gooey pasta on a cold night.  This baked macaroni and cheese recipe has ingredients like cheddar cheese, cream, fresh black pepper and breadcrumbs.  After the macaroni is cooked a cheese sauce is made and combined with the pasta.  After combined sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top and bake for 20 minutes.  This dish combines a mixture of creamy and crunch in one perfect combination.

 

  1. Slow Cooker Chili

This slow cooker chili is a great dish for people in a rush.  Start this dish in the morning and about after 20 minutes of preparation, put the chili into a skillet and heat it on low heat for eight hours or on high heat for six hours.  By the time the work day is done and it is time to sit down for dinner, this warm and spicy dish will be ready to be enjoyed.  With spices like cayenne pepper, chilli powder and red pepper it will for sure make your taste buds dance.

 

  1. Spaghetti and Meatballs

This classic recipe is a fantastic and easy to make.  Start with the meatballs, combine ground beef, eggs, garlic, parmesan cheese and milk into a small ball, if pressed for time, there is always frozen meatballs.  Pour tomato sauce into a crockpot and let it cook for about an hour.  While this is cooking take a package of uncooked spaghetti pasta and cook it in a pot of boiling water.  Once finished combine the meatballs and spaghetti for a wonderful dish everyone can enjoy.

 

  1. Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes

The ultimate comfort food to enjoy the fall evenings.  For the meatloaf use ground beef, eggs, onion, milk, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, and ketchup.  Combine in a bowl and as easily as that, put into the oven and bake for an hour.  For the mashed potatoes use  potatoes, salt, milk, butter and pepper if wanted.  Put the potatoes into a saucepan and cover with cold water.  Let the water come to a boil and cook for 20 to 30 minutes until the potatoes are tender.  Add the potatoes and other ingredients into a bowl and beat on low speed.  The last step: simply enjoy.

 

  1. Chicken Noodle Soup

This is an amazing dish for not only the sick, but a flavorful dish to enjoy on a fall night. This dish calls for chicken broth, carrots, onions, celery, chicken and egg noodles.  Mix the ingredients together in a warm saucepan.  This simple dish adds flavor to a chilly evening.  Serve this with crackers or bread and enjoy.
