NAU Spring Festivities

On Thursday March 23rd through March 26th, Desert Vista will depart for Northern Arizona University. Students and staff participating are Doctor Wedington-Clark and her guitar, concert, and symphony students. This is the biggest trip for all three groups.

“This is going to be so fun,” Alex Min said. “I get to spend almost four days with my favorite people on a trip in the snow!”

Everyone will arrive on Friday for the festival and a clinic. On the trip, every group will perform a few songs for the festival. They will work with a clinician to improve playing style. The guitar clinician is with Professor Thomas Sheeley from Northern Arizona University. The Concert and Symphony clinician will be held shortly afterwards with Professor Daniel O’Bryant of Northern Arizona University. On Friday, students will have lunch at either Bun Huggers or Fratelli near Coconino National Forest to celebrate a successful performance and clinic. On Saturday morning, students and staff will depart for Grand Canyon National Park. In the evening, they will be dressing up for a nice dinner and a show at Black Bart’s. All waiters and waitresses are voice majors at Northern Arizona University. On Sunday, students will pack and leave SpringHill Suites for Meteor Crater. After touring the crater and eating lunch, they will depart for Desert Vista High School. Students and Staff are expected to be back at around 4 pm.

“I’m really glad we are taking this trip,” Angela Chen said. “We should be able to share our music and have fun at the same time, and this serves a perfect opportunity.”
