Snapchat outrage

Recently, Snapchat launched a new feature called “Lenses” that allows users to animate their photos with cool effects, like making you look like an elderly person or even like your vomiting rainbows. The app put out new effects everyday and outdated the old ones. Everyone fell in love.

Less than a few weeks ago, Snapchat launched the “Lens Store” that lets users buy their favorite Lenses. If someone pays $0.99, the lens will be yours forever. To counteract all the hate that Snapchat received for charging for a filter, they claim that they will continue to put out new lenses often. The new lense store and it’s fees have made some “Snapchatters” very upset.

Snapchat started up in 2011, the brand new app became extremely popular among young people because of the apps features of “disappearing” photo messages that can’t be viewed again once they have been opened.

In my opinion, it is an amazing financial decision for Snapchat to charge for these popular filters. They observed that the people enjoyed this new feature and they made it a profit. Many people dislike this feature but you can’t blame the company for trying.
