Murals, Murals, On The Wall

If you go to the A building or second floor of the C building you’ll see lovely murals painted by art electives in the past. In front of the English department, there are characters shown coming out of classic books like To Kill A Mockingbird. In front of the science rooms in the A building there are paintings of science themed artworks such as chromosomes.

I think these beautiful drawings are a great addition to our school. They turn blank, beige, boring walls into masterpieces. And they aren’t just painted by hired painters, but by students that went to Desert Vista themselves. They fit perfectly in the halls and are related to each classroom.

As another example, there are drawings of theaters in front of the black box and theater rooms. Not only that, but there is a huge mural saying “Hollywood”. The theater related paintings let you know what classrooms you’re in front of and represent what that classroom is all about.

The human chromosome mural is a learning experience too. It’s large, accurate, and colorful, and shows what a chromosome from biology found in the human body actually looks like. You learn without even meaning to!

These murals give life to our school. When students walk in front of the music room, they can see giant, heartwarming pictures of instruments. The murals are obviously made by such talented students, and we should continue to fill the hall with these murals. Murals, murals, on the wall… these murals are the prettiest of them all.
