Desert Vista’s 2017 Sadie’s is coming up soon, so girls ask your boy before it is too late! The theme for Sadie’s this year is The Great Gatsby. The week before is a throwback spirit week leading up to the dance on Jan. 28 from 7:30 p.m to 10:30 p.m, tickets ranging from the price of $10-15 depending on when and where you buy them.  

For school dances, the boys usually ask the girls; for Sadie’s however, it is the other way around. Girls ask boys, and they are going all out!

“I was so nervous on the way asking him but my friends really helped me, they made me not nervous anymore. When I got to his friends house I was shaking but he ended up saying yes and I was so excited.” said freshman Kiara Graham, “I had the biggest smile on my face I can’t wait to go with him! When I asked him I gave him a poster that said ‘this has been ‘running’ through my mind…so I figured I would Just Do It, Sadie’s?’ with a pair of Nike shoes. I can’t wait for Sadie’s with my friends and my date!”

Girls asking boys to Sadie’s is something everyone likes because it is unique and a change. Now the girls get to come up with a fun way to ask their dates!   

“I like having girls ask guys to Sadies, it gives us a break since we always ask them to dances,” said sophomore Bradley Brooks, “I can’t wait to go to Sadies with my date, it should be fun!”
