Spread the Love Spirit Week

Desert Vista’s 2017 “Spread the Love Spirit Week” was one for the books! Feb. 13 through Feb. 17 was a fun spirit week the whole school enjoyed. On Monday students wore sweat pants for “don’t sweat the small things” and since it was Valentine’s day on Tuesday everyone wore pink, red or white. Then Wednesday was superhero day, followed by tie dye day on Thursday, and lastly school colors on Friday for school spirit!

“I thought this spirit week was a cute one!” said sophomore Holly Hansen, “I like how for some of the days they made cute little sayings for what to wear! My favorite day was ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’ because I had an excuse to dress lazy! I like when our school does spirit weeks, especially around holidays.”

I really enjoyed last week’s spirit week. I thought the cute sayings they made up for the days were very clever and I like how they made it a competition between all of the third periods. I also enjoyed all of the themes they picked, they were fun. Desert Vista spirit weeks are the best!

“I’m a cheerleader so I have to participate in all of the school spirit weeks,” said freshman Kira Blasenak, “This one was my favorite. My favorite day was Valentine’s Day because I wore a super cute outfit! It made me sad though because not as many people participated as I had hoped. Other than that I thought it was a good spirit week!”
